Above are photos of some plants in my Aquaponics systems, shots are of carrots, brocolli, cucumber fruits, cucumber leaf with powdery mildew and sweet potatoe leaf being attacked by leaf eating insects. Also, the albino pangasius is sick with the same symptoms of the other albino that died months ago.. there are lesions in the body, the stomach is bloated as if it is not able to digest food, there is even bleeding on the dorsal fin when i took it from the main tank.
My plants are either in Aquaponics (vegetables) or self watering containers made of recycled water bottles (vegetables and ornamentals). These plants are only given water weekly or when reservoire is empty. I am recently experimenting on making mixed plant containers and miniature garden. Some pics are here too.
If you wish to get some help in your gardening efforts while in Saudi Arabia, especially in Jeddah, please don't hesitate to leave your comments and I will respond accordingly.
Above; A sayote plant showing encouraging signs of growth since replanted in this self watering container with some other vegetables like tomatoe, parsley and other ornamental seedlings.
Above and below; chrysanthemums in a self watering container. I got this young plants from Sultan Garden Center, near Madinah Road opposite wooden bridge before approaching Jufalli building.
Above; Mixed plants (chrysanthemum, geranium and the other tall plant with beautiful violet flowers which i don't know the name of) this container is a crude self watering pot, i just put a smaller container inside and a wick so water will go slowly to the soil. Below; beautiful flower of the plant i don't know the name of, it is similar
to an onion...
